As Rye News reported last week both pubs in Rye Harbour are closed. The Inkerman Arms due to a fire on Monday February 15 and The William the Conqueror as it is being refurbished.
Neither pub has reopened as yet. The William the Conqueror is due to open on Friday February 26 at 5pm, with a free buffet – according to the sign outside the pub.
There is also a sign outside the Inkerman Arms that says the bar will be open on Thursday February 25 together with an explanation of what happened pinned up underneath the re-opening news. This can be found on Facebook.
