Election: Cheryl Creaser

I am Cheryl Creaser and I am standing as your local Labour candidate for Rye and Winchelsea.

By being a voice and standing up for our local community, I will represent the people of Rye and Winchelsea on the issues that matter most to the best of my ability.

Working in housing, I have brought social housing and shared ownership opportunities to Rye and our district. As a town councillor, I have been on the affordable housing committee that purchased a house for local residents in need. This experience has meant that housing is an issue that is important to me. In Rye and Winchelsea there has been a lack of new- build affordable housing over the past decade, and has forced young, local people to move away from Rye and Winchelsea. This is why if you elect me for Rye and Winchelsea I will champion new affordable and sustainable housing across Rye and Winchelsea. We will enhance and create opportunities to allow people to stay in our local communities to help us to grow and thrive.

My experience as a Rye Town Councillor for the last eight years has given me an insight into the challenges of local government, which I believe will stand me in good stead to represent our communities at District level.

OUR PLEDGES TO YOU:
FIGHT TO SAVE RYE POOL
CHAMPION OUR LOCAL BUSINESSES
CLEANER, GREENER TRANSPORT
MORE AFFORDABLE HOUSING
A FAIRER GREENER FUTURE

We will give the people of Rye and Winchelsea the strong voice they need and deserve.

  1. What an incredible, women Cheryl is, standing as a Labour councillor for the local elections on May 4th. A straight talking community focussed candidate who will get things done for the community, already part of working on local housing projects for those needing accessible and affordable housing. Vote Labour Cheryl for action for ordinary people.

  2. We’re so fortunate Cheryl is a candidate in the forthcoming elections. She is devoted to Rye and has spent much of her life supporting local issues as a town councillor. She says it how it is and doesn’t suffer fools gladly. She is just what Rye needs at this time.

  3. Although I definately will not be voting Labour at the next General Election, as I do not trust the current incumbents, at local level I see two local people, intent on fighting Ryes corner at Bexhill, just like the excellent Sam Souster used to for the town.

  4. Congratulations Cheryl. I look forward to working with you at Rother.
Having a Rye Town Councillor on the District Council will, I hope, make for better understanding between the two Authorities.

  5. Congratulations to Cheryl and Simon for securing both seats for Rye. I know they will both work hard for Rye’s best interest in this unique corner of Rother.
