The results of the referendum for the Neighbourhood Plan have been announced this morning (Friday, June 28).

The voting was as follows:

Yes    677
No    109
Spoilt   3

The turnout was 22%

The Neighbourhood Plan Steering Committee under the vice-chairmanship of Anthony Kimber (the nominal chairman is the Mayor) have worked hard on this for several years and the approval of the plan by a very large majority would seem to be a just reward for their efforts and this will now form the basis of the future development of the town.

By approving it, Ryers now have a real say in what happens around our ancient town in the future.

  1. Well done to Anthony Kimber and team. Such a lot of hard work has gone into the Plan. Now we need to make sure that local amenities and green spaces are protected for everyone to enjoy.

  2. It has been a long time coming but at last it is in place. Many thanks to all those involved especially Anthony Kimber without whose dedication and hard work this would not of happened.
