Yesterday, Thursday September 21, was the day designated as World Peace Day, writes Kenneth Bird. Established in 1981 by unanimous United Nations resolution, Peace Day provides a globally shared date for all humanity to commit to peace above all differences and to contribute to building a culture of peace.
Churches Together in Rye commissioned some posters to celebrate and these can be seen in the Clare Chapel in St Mary’s church. They are imaginatively designed and executed by Isabel Ryan, Priscilla Ryan’s daughter, Rachael Surieddine, Sonia Relf,and Frances Catt.
