Last Saturday’s attic sale at the Rye Community Centre, Conduit Hill, was well supported, thanks to excellent advance publicity. Extensive posters and leaflet drops sent an invitation throughout the town for householders to clear their homes of unwanted objects that were too good to throw away.
One stall-holder said: “Stuff! We’ve all got stuff, and we’re moving shortly so a lot’s got to go”.
Twenty tables were taken, raising enough to pay for the hire of the hall, although leaving nothing left over as reward for the organisers, Joyce McLeman and a neighbour from Eagle Road.
