Rye Harbour RNLI Lifeboat Station volunteers look forward to their Open Day which will take place between 10am and 3pm on Saturday July 23. Everyone is invited so why not come along?
Meet the volunteers who save lives at sea, explore the lifeboat station and get on board a real offshore lifeboat.
The Rye Harbour inshore lifeboat, Alexander, will be joined by the Dungeness all weather lifeboat, The Morrell. Visitors will be able to enjoy demonstrations of rescue techniques in the river by the volunteer crew from Rye Harbour and have the opportunity to get on board the Dungeness RNLI Shannon Class lifeboat.
With the lifeboats, lifeguards, safety advice and flood rescue, the RNLI are committed to saving lives. Bring children along too, and learn how to Stay SAFE by the water.
Refreshments will be available and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution shop will be open to provide a range of gifts, clothing and toys.
Funded by the generous donations of the public, the RNLI is the charity that has been saving lives at sea for 192 years.
ALSO: See the volunteer crews in action in the second episode of the new 4 part BBC One series Saving Lives at Sea at 9pm on Wednesday July 20.
