Last Sunday, April 10 Sally-Ann Hart, MP for Hastings and Rye, took time out to come and meet volunteers at the RNLI station at Rye Harbour: shore crew, boat crew, shop staff, tractor drivers, launching authorities, press officers, and the lifeboat operations manager. She was clearly impressed by what she saw and those whom she met, managing to chat with almost everyone present.

“I had a fantastic visit to the station,” said Sally-Ann afterwards.

“What came across so strongly was the commitment shown by the people I met, all of whom are volunteers. Their dedication to the cause of helping anyone in danger in the water, at any time of day or night, was wonderful, and their enthusiasm and dedication were palpable.”
