Over 400 people received their Covid booster vaccination at the weekend, the first time the Tilling Green Vaccination Centre has been up and running this autumn. There are three more sessions in coming weeks.

As before, Clarity Chemists led by Ankit Tyagi, supported by some professional vaccinators and a number of community volunteers are providing the service.

The next sessions are:

October 19 – 2:30pm – 6pm
October 26 – 3:15pm – 6pm
November 2 – 2pm – 6pm

The groups to be offered a Covid vaccine in autumn / winter 2024/25 are:

– residents in a care home for older adults.

– all adults aged 65 years and over.

– people aged 6 months to 64 years in a clinical risk group.

The National Booking Service (NBS) is open. Do please book as it allows the centre to plan the vaccine here.

The accommodation is at the Tilling Green Centre leased from the Rye Partnership.

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine will be routinely offered for the first time this year from September to those turning 75 years of age. This will be a year-round offer alongside a catch up for those aged 75 to 79. Both RSV and winter flu jabs should be booked with GPs and in local chemists.

  1. It was busy when I turned up Saturday for mine. The car park was equally as busy and as entertaining as it is to watch, there are some elderly drivers who should really consider surrendering their driving licence!!!

On a positive note, it pleased me greatly to see everyone waiting patiently for their turn and being respectful towards the volunteers and each other. The volunteers who organise everyone do a fantastic job and they all deserve a big thank you.
