On Sunday, August 4, Peter Anthony, one of the owners of the popular Salts Farm Shop will be undertaking a 100 mile bike ride through London and Surrey in aid of the homeless charity Crisis. A keen cyclist, Peter decided to do this ride for Crisis after a recent visit to Brighton where he witnessed the shocking plight of people sleeping rough through the city.

The ride is the annual Prudential RideLondon, with professional cycle teams racing in the RideLondon-Surrey Classic together with many amateurs in the RideLondon-Surrey 100 for whom it is a ‘sportive’ (time targets, but not a race) and for many of whom, just getting round the course is a challenge in itself.

There are various distance options, but for the 100 mile ride, the start is at the Olympic Park – a location to inspire the riders – and then the course takes them out of London, via Richmond Park, through the Surrey hills – including the notorious and challenging Box Hill – before heading back into London with an adrenaline-rush finish down the Mall. It is likely to take Peter between 6 and 7 hours to complete.

Crisis helps those who are homeless, of all ages and for whatever reason. Its work is vital for those with no roof over their heads and worthy of support.

If you want to support Peter in his efforts to help the charity, you can visit his fundraising website or donate at Salts Farm Shop.

The Prudential RideLondon, is a most prestigious event and we wish Peter much luck and stamina.
