Community cycle challenge

We are back following Covid-19 restrictions with our annual cycle ride on 19 September, organised by Rye & Winchelsea Rotary Club and Rye Wheelers, This year we start from Channons Country Store, Rye Cattle Market, with riders leaving between 9am and 10am, raising money for local charities and good causes.

With a short ride of 10km for novices, increasing to 25, 50 and 100km, a signed route, with marshals where we think it will help, the route goes via Camber, Lydd and Old Romney to Hythe. This lovely country ride showcases some of the best of Romney Marsh.

Entrance is by donation on the day, £10 adults, £6 under 16’s and under 11’s are free when accompanied by an adult rider.

Rotary president Stuart Raine, says “If you are fit, have a roadworthy cycle and a cycle helmet this is the ride for you! We are looking forward to a good turn out to help us support local charities and good causes”.

This year our main sponsor is a company called Indik8a who offer the latest technology in safety indicators  for cyclists. This clever hand light takes indicating to a new level. Lightweight and easy to use, Indik8a lets you signal with certainty, with one press of your thumb.

All riders will receive a medal on completion.
