Despite the wet weather, Rye Cricket Club is still very busy preparing for the coming season. Last Saturday a working party began outdoor preparations. Fencing up; covers ready; sightscreens back in place, but as yet no rolling. The prospect of better weather means this weekend we can start rolling, in anticipation of the first game on April 15th v Cowdray.

Last Tuesday we began starter sessions. They continue for the next three Tuesdays at Rye Sports Centre, 6pm – 7pm mixed softball, and 7pm – 8pm girls only session. Spaces are available so come down and try for free with coaches from Sussex CCC.

On Thursdays until April 20th there are hardball sessions 6pm – 7pm for under 11s and 7pm – 8pm for under 13 and 15.

Outdoor junior coaching starts on Wednesday, April 26th from 6pm – 8pm at Rye Cricket Salts.

The club also is offering an indoor net for adults at Claremont School in Bodiam on April 16th, 10:30am – noon. Cost is £5: come and give it a go with Rye and Winchelsea Cricket Club.
