The 2nd team of Icklesham Casuals entertained Sandhurst at the recreational ground on Saturday December 5. Despite a good performance against the league leaders whose side contained a number of players from their disbanded Division One team of last season they lost 4-1.
Sandhurst led 1-0 at the interval but Icklesham played some good football and created plenty of chances with both Dan Russell and Mason Maddox looking dangerous out wide. Joe Fraser equalised on the hour after an excellent move started by skipper Nick Bellhouse. The side tired towards the end in difficult conditions and conceded three times in the last 20 minutes.
The 1st team travelled away to Herstmonceux and despite giving it a good effort ended up losing 6-3 with Rob Levett getting two goals and Phil Badrock the other.
The 2nd team game away to F C Westridge this Saturday has already been called off as their pitch at Bodiam is under water. The 1st team are scheduled to play Hastings Rangers at the Recreation Ground with a 2 p.m. kick-off.
Icklesham Casuals Veterans look to defend the cup they won last year as they take on Little Common Veterans in the Hastings F.A. Veterans Cup Final this coming Monday (December 14) at the Pilot Field in Hastings. Kick-off is 7:30 p.m. and admission is £3. Please come along and support the team.
