Running Forever – a Rye, East Sussex-based company offering running coaching, workshops, and holidays in the local area – aims to get more people enjoying the physical and mental health benefits of running by offering a free 10-week beginners’ course with Rye Runners.
The course is suitable for adults of all ages, abilities and aspirations, whether they’ve never run a step or last ran so long ago they can’t remember,’ said Running Forever’s Sam Murphy. As well as gradually building your fitness, the course is designed to actually teach you how to run well – to reduce the risk of injuries and make running feel great.
Each session is led by experienced, qualified coaches who have walked in your shoes and know it can be scary when you’re taking your first steps. That’s why we make it fun and friendly and respect the fact that everyone progresses at their own pace.
The course begins on Saturday January 12 at 10:30am from Rye’s Cricket Pavilion. There is a registration fee of £10 after which the course is free. Booking essential – contact sam@runningforever.co.uk or visit www.sam-murphy.co.uk or https://www.facebook.com/wearerunningforever
For the more experienced runners, Running Forever is holding a Master your Marathon one-day workshop on Sunday, January 20 at Rye’s Elysian Centre. ‘This covers everything you need to know about how to train effectively for a marathon, including how to build a suitable training plan, get your pacing right, injury prevention, nutrition and race execution,’ says Jeff Pyrah, co-founder of Running Forever and a familiar face on the local racing scene. ‘Our mission with Running Forever is to get everyone to fall in love with running, and make it a lifetime habit.’
