Rye have concluded their Ashford League Season, with a successful season of fun cricket. The Rye Juniors have 84 members aged 5-15, who have all contributed to the experience.

The Under 15s finished 4th in their League, having defeated the teams who both finished 1st and 2nd. Sadly they lost by 8 runs to Egerton in the Cup. A good team effort throughout, led by skipper Joseph Kemsley, with a number of players now progressing to play successfully in Rye 3rds and 2nds.

The Under 13s were a very much under age team who finished 6th of 9 teams, fielding only three Under 13 players. In only one match were they out powered, Folkestone, otherwise they were competitive, nearly chasing down 192 against Tenterden. They play against Boughton in the Cup.

Rye Under 11A finished 4th of 5, but did beat the Division winners Folkestone. On Monday they beat Mersham A by 45 runs. Hampered by unavailability, they could not retain the Division title. However the Rye U11B team won their Division undefeated, led by skipper Freddie Furnival. The B Team travel to Tenterden B in the Cup on Monday and the A team travel to Ashford in the Cup the following Monday.

Rye are running extra Softball Sessions on Fridays – July 15 / 22 / 29. 6-7pm for 7-9 year olds and 7-8pm for 9-12 year olds. In addition Rye are running Summer Camps in the holidays. On August 1 and 2 for Hardball and August 3 and 4 for Softball. For more details on how to join in please contact Martin Blincow blincsfamily@aol.com
