Rye Town FC travelled to the panoramic rural surroundings of Sedlescombe in the East Sussex Football Premier League on Saturday October 27.
After a goalless half hour it was the home side that broke the deadlock, scoring two goals in two minutes. Rye Town responded well and with a goal from Dom Cruttenden on the stroke of half time took the teams into the half-time break with Sedlescombe leading by two goals to one. In the 71st minute Charlie Stevens struck for Town bringing the teams level and a share of the points.
Rye’s man of the match was Andy Garman and the match sponsors were Rye Auction Galleries Ltd.
The draw gives Rye Town eight points from the six league games played this season which sees them placed sixth in the league, 10 points behind the table-toppers Battle Baptist.
Town’s next match is on Saturday November 3 at Rye Rugby ground against Sidley. Kick-off is at 2pm and match sponsor is The Mermaid Inn, Rye.
This is the first of two consecutive home games. On Saturday November 10, Hawkhurst visit the Rugby ground for a 2pm kick-off. Match sponsor is EW Production Services.
