This Saturday’s opening fixture has fallen foul of the extremely wet weather. The Rye Cricket Salts has been so wet, pre-season rolling has not been possible. We await the pleasures of the weather gods in the hope the next pre-season friendly can take place on April 22 v Tenterden.

This Saturday, there will be a working party from 10am at the Rye Cricket Salts to continue work on the pavilion and the ground, as we get the practice facilities ready. The weather means the junior season has been put back a week. The signing on night for juniors is now April 28 at 7pm in the pavilion. Junior coaching starts on Wednesday May 3, 6-8pm for juniors involved in playing league games. The Under 11A start May 8 v Ashford Town A and the U11B travel to Mersham. On May 9 the U15 are away to Wye and on May 11 the U13 travel to Folkestone.

Indoor coaching has continued on Thursday nights, and Tuesday night taster sessions have started for four weeks, two free sessions for new participants. Mixed softball 6-7pm and girls only 7-8pm where a nucleus of girls have attended. Why not come along and try the game of cricket in readiness for the summer?

The All Stars / Cricket Dynamos Programme starts on Friday May 12, 6-8pm at the Rye cricket salts. Sign up online with All Stars, or try our taster session on Friday May 5, 6-7pm.

There is a lot of cricket on offer this summer. Why not join in on the field? Or just enjoy a drink in our Bar. Get in contact through blincsfamily@aol.com or 07535 482006 and www.ryecc.play-cricket.com
