Starting outside the George Hotel and finishing at the Rye Sports Centre, competitors embarked upon a challenging circular route taking them through ancient woodland and across farmland on trails, footpaths and country lanes linking the Norman churches of Rye, Iden, Beckley, Northiam and Peasmarsh.

The undulating multi-terrain route covered much of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty so runners had plenty to look at while negotiating numerous gates and stiles.
