Rye Bay White’s u12s v Pass ‘n’ Move

On Tuesday, May 3 Rye Bay Whites u12s played Pass ‘n’ Move at home down at Winchelsea Beach, after our recent cup defeat the boys were up for a chance to get three points in the league .

In the first couple of minutes the away side got a penalty after an accidental hand ball but put it wide of the goal. The whites took control of the game and kept them pegged in their half, Henry Cook managed to break through several times to score a hat trick in the first half.

Again in the second half we started to dominate with Miles Sullivan getting some good early shots on target but the Pass ‘n’ Move keeper was on top form denying him his glory. We looked good on set pieces with Oscar Mortan scoring a great header from a well delivered corner which earned him the players’ choice for player of the match,

Late in the game our opponents scored from a long ball over the top for the game to finish 4-1 and gave us the three points, a good all round performance from the boys.

Rye Bay Whites v Heathfield and Horam u12s

On Saturday, May 6 we played Heathfield and Horam at home in our last league game. We started sluggishly, being second to every ball and missing a handful of chances to score.

The opposition were well drilled at the back in keeping a tight line to catch us offside (too many times to count) which was frustrating for the boys but then Henry Cooke broke through and got taken down in the penalty area to win a penalty which he calmly converted.

After a good team talk at half time, we went back out with a different attitude and dominated, with the opposition not getting a shot at goal. George Colvin had a great game at centre back and Jack Arters’ work rate in midfield was endless which earned both players the choice for player of the match.

The game finished 2-0 with Oscar Sinclair scoring a brilliant volley from a deflected shot earning us three points to finish the season in second place which is a fantastic achievement. Well done team!
