Rye 2nds entertained Glynde 2nds in a match sponsored by The Mermaid Inn. Rye won the toss and elected to bat.
Glynde struck early on with some very tight bowling, reducing Rye to 66-6 and it seemed they were heading for defeat in this limited over match. Rye now fought back as Harry Rhys-Jones (29) and Jack Dudley (24) rebuilt the innings. Craig Pierce joined Dudley to continue the fightback as Pierce peppered the boundary on his way to 62. Supported by Martin Blincow, they added 45 runs for the 10th wicket. Rye were eventually all out for 187 in the 40th over.
Glynde’s reply was led by Jani Flind (61), but their innings was held back by an accurate spell of 1-11 off 9 overs by Steve Stickells. Glynde then tried to break the stranglehold, but Flind could not find support as he fell to Jack Dudley (2-39), and with Martin Blincow (3-37), Glynde were dismissed for 156.

Sharkey was eventually run out having scored 64. Ross Pierce hit a quickfire 28 before he became the first victim to the bowling of Jay Feast who went on to finish with figures of 2-53. Jack Keen then looked to find the boundary at regular intervals as the number of remaining overs reduced. Three quick wickets for the returning Perry Holland (3-39) removed the lower order. Keen was able to find the boundary on the last ball of the innings to finish on 51 not out with Rye finishing on

Keen (1-41) also claimed an early wicket at the other end dismissing Robert Freeman for 15. A fourth wicket partnership looked to steady the innings before Freddie Mackenzie dismissed James Brightman (29) to claim figures of 1-49. Two quick wickets from Pierce (2-40) looked to put Rye in control. A seventh wicket partnership however between Ben White (83*) and Jay Feast (36*) saw Little Common to victory with three overs to spare.
