The local leisure centres operated by Freedom Leisure in partnership with Rother District Council will reopen their doors on April 12, after the third, and hopefully last, lockdown. Freedom Leisure say they “are so grateful to our customers for their patience, support and loyalty once again during the closure of Bexhill Leisure Centre, Bexhill Leisure Pool and Rye Sports Centre”.
When the centres reopen on Monday, April 12, most activities will be available including gym, swimming, racquet sports and children’s swimming lessons. But, as per the government guidelines, group exercise classes will not be available straightaway, but they should recommence in May.
With winter out of the way it is time to start getting active and ready to make the most of summer 2021, which we all hope will be very different from last year. Where better to do that than your local Freedom Leisure centre, where you can confidently exercise with others in a fun, motivating and Covid-19 safe environment?
Malcolm Johnston, chief executive at Rother District Council, said: “It is very welcome news that Rother’s leisure centres will be reopening in a Covid-secure way next month, giving our residents access to local exercise facilities again. Regular exercise is important for everyone’s mental and physical health and I would encourage residents to see what’s on offer at their local leisure centre.”
Ivan Horsfall Turner, managing director Freedom Leisure, said; ”We look forward to seeing everyone using their local leisure centre again, and the teams can’t wait to get back to providing our local communities with opportunities for exercise, activity and the chance to socialise safely.”
For information on reopening times and activity programmes go to the website and follow your local centre on Facebook.
