Rye Cricket Club have been working with Alex and Katie Clarke at The George to develop the new look for our stumps for games at the Salts and Icklesham. The Club is proud to unveil The George as its new stumps sponsor.
Alex Clarke, co-owner said: “The George is very happy to support our cricket club in Rye and we are delighted with their new look Georgian-sponsored stumps. Sadly, like many local community groups, the cricket club is facing a funding crisis, which will be further compounded when they lose a maintenance contract for the Cricket Salts next year. We all recognise the important role in the wider community of group sports, of bringing the community together in a different way, its social and health benefits. The team at The George is delighted to cheer on our local cricket club and wish them many more good innings.”
