Icklesham Casuals winning start to the season came to an end last Saturday, when they went down 3-0 away to a strong AFC Hollington II side in the 1st round of the East Sussex League Divisions Four and Five Challenge Cup.
The match was a tight affair for the first seventy minutes with the hosts having the better chances, but thanks to some good defending and great saves from Casuals keeper Michael Watson the match remained goalless.
The opening goal was always going to be crucial and this came following some sloppy play by Icklesham. AFC Hollington immediately made it 2-0 with the goal coming from a disputed throw-in and then added a good third goal. AFC Hollington were the better team and deserved the win but the final 3-0 score was somewhat harsh on the Casuals.
Icklesham are without a game this Saturday.
