This Saturday, April 26 the cricket season gets underway, as the 1st Xl host Staplehurst 1pm start in a pre-season friendly. The team will include Australian overseas player Harvey Otto and a number of close season signings. The following Saturday in pre-season friendlies the 1st Xl travel to play Tenterden 1st Xl and the 2nd Xl travel to play Robertsbridge 1st Xl.

The Rye Cricket Salts is looking in great shape thanks to the hard work of volunteers, and the support of club president Phil Merricks with the cutting of the outfield. This work is only possible thanks to the grant of £1,500 from the Rye Fund and the generous sponsorship of Bournes Moves.

On Friday evening nets are at 6pm for the Saturday teams and under 16s. At the same time we are hosting our junior signing on night from 7pm. At 7.30pm there will be the delayed 2024 junior awards, plus the presentation of ground equipment in memory of Derek Baldock by his family.

For juniors we offer hardball cricket practice on Wednesdays 6-8pm from April 30 for 12 weeks, a full programme of fixtures for our 2 under 11 teams, under 13s and under 16s. We also offer a softball session starting Sunday, May 11, All Stars ages 5-9 10am-11am and Cricket Dynamos 11am – Noon. To sign up see here.
