Does it matter – heating or eating?
Just spend the whole day in bed
And why get upset or see red
When the bosses rake in massive profits
While others are going underfed?
Does it matter – losing your home?
When the landlord increases your rent
And each month you’re way overspent
And you can’t get a loan from the bank
To cover the price of a tent?
Does it matter – having to beg?
There are good folk who help those in need
Who don’t think you should grovel or plead
As you enter the ranks of the poor
In an economy tainted by greed.
