Follow Winchelsea’s example

It’s no good keeping on moaning about Rother District’s neglect  of  the Landgate arch.

In my book Hilder’s Cliff and the east end of High Street should have been pedestrianized ages ago.

Every other historic town in England has its pedestrianized areas, and judging by the numbers of visitors to Rye this last summer I foresee a crisis coming . . .  people/vehicles/parking nightmares.

Why can not there be fundraising events by the people of Rye  to restore this ancient monument?  (Winchelsea folk do this to keep up  their ancient monuments).

Get  an estimate from the craftsmen and get everyone in the town to contribute . . . and hold some pricey events to raise the dosh!!
