The setting sun

It is not often that the elements in a photograph line up just as you want them, which is why some photographers work mainly in a studio, so they can control what is being photographed, while others take lots of photos of outdoor scenes in the hope that one is just right – and I have worked with both sorts of photographers over many years in journalism, marketing and public relations.

But when you get one that is just right, you want to share it – and photographer Peter Challans has shared this one with Rye News.

Journalists often say that a good photograph is worth a thousand words and in the cases of sport photos this is often very true.

However writers and film-makers will also say that a good image can trigger a thousand thoughts – and I think I could write a book if I could have this photo on the cover!
