Unnecessary noise in Cinque Ports Street

Dear Sir

The inspection covers outside Bidgoods store in Cinque Ports Street are a constant source of noise. Most vehicles passing drive over the covers making a considerable amount of noise.

I have spoken to people who work in the area and they tell me the continuous clattering is driving them mad. The area surrounding the covers is disintegrating and exposing a sharp metal edge that is not going to do tyres much good. A rubber membrane needs fitting between the covers and their surrounding structures to deaden the noise and the holes in the road need filling. I wonder who is going to do that, and when?

Yours sincerely

Tony Roi
