RNLI Rye Harbour fundraisers hosted their final event of the year at the Waterworks brewery in Playden on Saturday, November 30. It was a huge success, raising over £1,300. The occasion was masterminded by Jo Jennings and Morganne Fiddimore and huge congratulations go to them and their supportive fundraising team for a terrific event which had a festive air; all who attended had a brilliant afternoon. Haiden Debley-Turner, the youngest fundraiser at fourteen, was in charge of raffle ticket sales with his mum and sister.
Jo explained: “Over thirty festive afternoon teas were served, with guests treated to rather generous portions of festive delights. A huge thank you goes to Tim Morgan for donating his time and use of the Waterworks brewery; to Debbie and Paul from the New Inn Winchelsea for kindly donating the clotted cream and jam; and to the White House for donating their incredible scones – which we highly recommend, by the way!
“Adding to the festivities was Jean Brown’s Oi Oi Bingo which brought a lively twist to the event. The afternoon was rounded off with a raffle with prizes generously donated by Charles Palmer Vineyard, the Waterworks, Chapel Down Vineyard, The New Inn Winchelsea, Rye Chocolates, Iden Wood Cattery and Rye’s In Sun. Claire Robus-Bolton made her signature sausage rolls which were soon snapped up and the last thank you goes to Cranbrook School for lending the crockery.
