Community produces something special

Camber is not only home to some of the finest beaches and sand dunes in the country which as we know attract huge numbers of visitors each year, it also enjoys an active, well organised local community who are kept in touch on events, services and issues which matter via the Camber Community Newsletter. The all inclusive newsletter is produced by a committee of volunteers, a charitable organisation run by locals for locals and captures the wonderful community spirit of the Camber residents.

The newsletter is published locally by Adams in Rye, everything costs money and all proceeds from sales of a forthcoming 2025 calendar will go towards printing costs.

Producing a local calendar is not a new initiative and the committee have decided to produce another calendar featuring photos taken by Camber locals and which is now in the advanced stages of production. There was no calendar last year as they took the very noble decision to abstain from producing one because Rye Rugby Club produced their own fundraiser calendar in aid of prostate cancer research and they didn’t want to inhibit their sales for such a good cause.

Seeing Camber from a different perspective

The 2025 calendar features Little Cheyne Court Wind Farm on its front cover and inside, a superb selection of photographs supplied by the local community but there is still time for local businesses to show their support for this and other community projects by sponsoring a page for a one off fee of just £20! For this small investment sponsors could have their businesses name and contact details advertised for the whole month and on every calendar, what a bargain!

The sea is still, the sun is beginning to appear, Camber is awakening

I know the festive season is a long way away but as we all know, finding something different as a gift at Christmas isn’t always easy. Wouldn’t a locally produced 2025 calendar make a lovely Christmas present for someone special? it’s not only a practical present but also something which captures images and memories of the real Camber which so many locals know, value and love.

  1. A great idea. Local charity – Friends Altogether in Rother / FAiR – will definitely sponsor a page. Have left a message on the answerphone of the telephone number quoted.

  2. Thankyou, all of our calendar pages are now sold. The calendar will be available to buy at the Camber Community Fete on 11 August and various outlets afterwards.
