The Friends of St Mary’s Church, Udimore hope you can join them for one or two of their events. Both are guided walks on bank holiday Monday, May 1, 10am – 4pm. The walks last approximately one hour and one of the strolls is through the bluebells at 10am, 11am, noon, or 2pm to Billingham Wood, the other at 11:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm or 3:30pm is to Ladywell Wood. The start for the walks is at St Mary’s Hall which is on the left to the church when accessing it.

Nadia Florence-Marshall, secretary to the Friends of St Mary’s, want people to be aware that there will be uneven ground, so suitable footwear is required. Sadly, the terrain is not accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs. Dogs are welcome on leads. Tickets are £10, children free, which includes the two walks and coffee / tea. If you want a light lunch, refreshments and cakes they are available to buy.

A second event for everyone to enjoy is ‘Flowers Fit For A King’. From May 6 – 8, from 10am-4pm, except through Sunday service at 11:15am. St Mary’s Church is offering a ‘Royal Festival of Flowers’ and also on show there will be beautifully embroidered kneelers.

Nadia would like to thank the flower sponsors, Tibbs Farm café, the Plough, residents of Udimore and its parish council. The friends of St Mary’s hope many people will join them in one or both events and for further information please contact Nadia on 01797 882948.
