Wednesday, June 16 saw the return of volunteer litter-pickers to help clean the beach and footpaths around Rye Harbour Nature Reserve.
For years the oceans have been regarded as a dumping ground and according to some estimates there are 86 millions tonnes of plastic in the waters of the world. We cannot keep the beaches of Britain clean without volunteers so join us and make a difference. Beach cleans bring like-minded people together with a common aim: to improve the quality of oceans and beaches now and for future generations.
These beach cleans are supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and are currently happening every third Wednesday. To take part please book a place by emailing lucybowyer@sussexwt.org.uk.
