Fairlight Hall’s garden (shown above) is open this Saturday, July 28, from 10:30am to 4pm in aid of St Michael’s Hospice and has stunning views, a delightful walled garden and beautifully planted borders. Entry £5 and refreshments available.
Fairfest 2018 also takes place in Fairlight the following day, Sunday July 29, on Fairlight Recreation Ground from midday to 10pm. Entry is free, parking is available and there will be stalls, music, a bar and refreshments – not to mention the falconry displays, Morris dancers and archers
Broad Oak fire station is holding a fun day on Sunday as well on the Broad Oak Recreation Ground from 1-4pm. This includes a raffle, tombola, games, a bar, refreshments and the Hastings Coastal Twirlers. Entrance is free.
The day before, Saturday, Pett celebrates the 70th anniversary of its Flower Show at Pett Recreation Field from 2pm. Classes include flowers, fruit and vegetables, baking, jam making and flower arranging, as well as model making and handicrafts classes. There’s also a fun dog show, donkey rides, a brass band, and sideshows including a tombola, a book stall, and the children’s corner. Admission to the marquee is 50p, children free.
And in Winchelsea a Masterclass Concert is taking place (also on Saturday July 28) at St Thomas’s Church at 6:30pm for 7pm featuring graduate students from classical music colleges in the UK and overseas. Tickets £10 (from 01797 223640).
