Beautiful turned wood items

On the weekend of July 6 and 7, David Hall opened his garden at Hall Cottage in Swan Street, Wittersham,. David is a cabinet maker and has been restoring and making bespoke furniture since 1974, using a range of different woods depending on the individual pieces and customers’ requirements

Several other artists also displayed their paintings, pottery (cups, bowls, jugs with very distinctive glazes) as well as items out of wood. Visitors were able to sit in the peaceful surroundings with cake, coffee and tea.

Most impressive was the amazing flower and vegetable garden behind the house, with a poly tunnel and wild meadow. Asked who looks after all the fruit, vegetables and flowers, David said it was just his wife and himself.

He comes with his products to the Friday market at the Community Centre, Conduit Hill on the last Friday of every month.
