Three great activities for children have been organised at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve this week.
A Wildlife Watch will take place on Saturday, April 7 from 10am to 12:30 pm. This is our monthly club for children aged 5-11 offering a chance to find out more about the natural world and the special wildlife we find at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. Each session will have a different theme and will include exploring the reserve, playing games, craft activities and learning how to help wildlife thrive.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. Meet at Rye Harbour village car park, wrap up against the April showers and come down to get your children closer to nature. Please book. Donations are appreciated.
Two other events took place earlier in the week. On Tuesday April 3, there was the Great Eggcase Hunt, an Easter egg hunt with a difference, looking for mermaids’ purses – the egg cases of sharks, skates and rays -and other treasures to be found washed up on the beach.
Then on Wednesday April 4, there was a Minibeast Hunt when youngsters took a closer look with Chris Bentley, our resident expert, at some of the smaller creatures that live on the nature reserve.
