The village hall was buzzing on Saturday, November 20. Lots of people came and bought raffle tickets, (a big thank you all the local businesses and locals for donating such great prizes), spent money on the tombola stall and bought cakes. The cake stall is one of the biggest highlights because there are some fantastic bakers who live in the harbour. Claire, Betty, Sylvie, Jean, Jenny and Tracey are amongst our star bakers (there are others) and the proof is in the pudding as the cakes soon sold out.
A big thank you to all those who worked so hard before and during the event. There were three craft stalls and an RNLI stall selling branded merchandise.
We had two guest visitors, Father Christmas and Stormy Stan, the RNLI mascot, who worked well as a team and I am reliably informed that Stormy Stan will be working with the elves next year to make the toys as Father Christmas needs assistance and Father Christmas was so impressed with how he got on with everyone.
RNLI Rye Harbour raised £1,100+ with some more donations coming in. This money is vital in helping our volunteers to save lives at sea.
