As usual at Christmas, the 18 members of staff at the Winchelsea Beach Co-op made a special collection and personally purchased, for the Rye Foodbank, a hamper of luxury food items to be passed out with the usual food help. Thanks to everyone at the Co-op, we know that this gesture will brighten up a number of Christmas tables around Rye.

I’ve often listened to a lovely song on the Eric Clapton “Unplugged” album called “Nobody knows you when you’re down and out”. But the actions of the staff at the Winchelsea Beach Co-op, and many, many others, prove that this isn’t true here. Lots of people have a heart for those for whom life is a struggle, and take practical steps to express it. Thank you all! – the managers and volunteers at the Food Bank couldn’t be more appreciative.
