My name is Caroline Lane, my family are currently raising much needed funds for St Michael’s Hospice, Hastings and Rother registered charity number 288462.

In September 2024, myself and my two daughters, Hannah and Jessica will be taking part in the Hospice to Holland Cycle Challenge. We will be cycling 280 miles over five days, across four countries. Our journey begins in Eastbourne and ends in Holland. Our aim is to raise as much money as possible for St Michael’s Hospice whilst remembering my dad, Norman Richardson

St Michael’s Hospice cared for my dad, during April 2014. Whilst he was there, they helped my family to get our family home set up for him to spend his final days at home with his family around him. During the next two months, the care he received from the hospice at home team was incredible. Not only did the nurses have time to comfort and care for my dad but they were also a huge support to the rest of my family. I don’t think I can ever repay the kindness that was given but I can help to raise funds to give something back to this amazing charity. Next year, will mark 10 years without my dad and therefore our aim with the support from our friends, family and community is to raise £10,000 for St Michael’s Hospice

Over the next 12 months we will be hosting various fundraising events. With the help from friends, family and our community, we hope to reach a target of raising £10,000 (£1,000 for every year dad has been gone) for St Michael’s Hospice.

Our first fundraising event will be a cocktails, canapes and music evening on Friday, November 10 at Tilling Green Community Centre. You can find out more information about this event here.

So far we have sold over 80 tickets. So many people and businesses have offered their support to make this event a huge success. We have 18 volunteers, bartenders, chefs, DJs and event organisers plus we have managed to secure a professional photographer for the evening.

At the event everyone will get to enjoy some mouth-watering canapes designed by our young chefs. There will be a dessert table for those with a sweet tooth to purchase: an array of cakes, cheesecakes and petit fours. Our mixologists will entertain you with their skills whilst preparing the most delicious cocktails and for those that prefer a wine, beer etc. our bar will provide that too. Between eating and drinking our DJs will keep your toes tapping and you will not be able to resist showing us your moves on the dance floor.

We also have a raffle with some fantastic prizes for you to win so why not gather your friends and family and book your tickets today.

Ticket price £25 per person, this includes entrance, a welcome drink and some delicious canapes.
