Rye will be celebrating the coronation of our king, with Ryebellion Drummers, the official cry from the town crier, three cheers for the king from the deputy mayor (as the mayor himself is attending the coronation), contributions from representatives of the armed services and other Rye citizens, a prayer for the king from the rector, Rev Paul White, and ending with a community singalong of patriotic songs.
Rye’s coronation day celebrations are on Saturday, May 6 at 4:30pm, in the Buttermarket which is outside the town hall.
Come along and help Rye celebrate this historic day!
