Rye Country Market reopens at the community centre on Conduit Hill at 10am on the dot on Friday, March 11. Organiser Trish Ashton-Cobb expects all the usual complement of stall-holders to be offering their produce. Her own specialities will be on offer including sweet and savoury baking, jams, chutneys and new season marmalade, plus some seasonal vegetables, apple juice and a few flowers.
Tea and coffee with home made biscuits will be served as usual, helping create the friendly social atmosphere we have come to enjoy.
New stallholders are always welcome, says Trish, particularly cooks.
It is hoped that masks will be worn, but this is optional now.

I am so glad the Friday Market is returning but what gave me great joy was the picture of the market. There standing in her red coat a lovely snap of Priscilla Ryan. How she is missed.

Am puzzled that the popular farmers market is tucked away on Wednesdays instead of by the river open all day with many providers and stalls.. This was such a feature of Rye life and times!
I have tried to find a way of leaving a comment separately from the welcome Friday market but cannot find a way of making a fresh comment in spite of looking carefully!?
