In spite of the cold weather, the daffodils were in flower leading up the path to the Grade 1 listed church of St Peter and St Paul, Peasmarsh, sited about a mile from the village, up Church Lane. This little church fits so well into its rural setting, with the quiet churchyard and the trees all around.
At this time each year, members of the congregation purchase lilies in memory of their loved ones. These are arranged in the church in time for the Easter Sunday Service, held this year on April 1. Three dozen single tall calla lily blooms, beautiful creams and whites, and a simple shape to be offset by the freshly cut greenery, made two large arrangements, which it was hoped had done justice to the thoughts behind each bloom. Additionally, this year there were two spring flower basket arrangements to bring some early colour into the whitewashed church.
