Northiam’s Midsummer Festival and Fun Day takes place on the playing fields in Main Street this Saturday June 23 from 11am until 4pm.
The event (in aid of the Northiam Bonfire Society) includes a craft fayre, a fun dog show, rides and attractions, games stalls, terrier racing, a falconry display, the Bonfire Boys BBQ and the Highwayman mini beer festival, hot and cold refreshments, and free live music – including the The Starlight Beatles.
Brede features a Teddy Bear Fair at St George’s Church this Sunday, June 24, from 2pm to 4:30pm which includes a Teddy Bear Treasure Hunt, Bring and Buy and Toy Stalls, as well as the bell tower being open for anyone over 14 to try their hand at bell ringing.
You can also, apparently, have your teddy or furry animal put into a harness to fly down the zip wire – and receive a badge and certificate. All good family fun – and next Saturday, June 30, the Friends of St George’s invite you to a Garden Party at Dr John Crook’s garden at Hillside from 10-12 with homemade scones, strawberries and cream.
Beckley also has a village dog show next Saturday, June 30, along with (from noon until 4pm) a village fete and horticultural show – and the main road will be closed (with a diversion) between Horseshoe Lane to Kingsbank Lane.
And last but not least an Up and Running Fete and Dog Show is being held at Rye Rugby Club in New Road on Sunday July 1. Registration is from 11:30am with classes from 12:30pm. Other activities include face painting, games, arts and crafts and a tombola.
Demonstrations during the day include the Up and Running Flyball Club, CMA Martial Arts, Rye Dance Centre and the Ryebellion Drummers
