Here, at the Rye flower and veg headquarters, we are trying hard to be positive about next year’s show. After the disappointment of cancelling the 2020 event, we have pencilled in (with fingers crossed) a date for Saturday, August 28 2021. We remain hopeful that we will be able to hold a show in some format by then. You can keep up to date with our plans on our fab new website at www.ryeflowerandvegshow.co.uk.
Meanwhile, from what I have seen and heard locally, many of you have been especially busy tending your gardens and allotments during the last few months. But from now until February tends to be garden-tidying time when exciting plans get laid for the new season’s veggies, flowers and fruit The long dark nights have drawn in and those, along with another lockdown, are giving us all more time to browse through the seed catalogues for inspiration next year.
Now is also the ideal time to look at our website. Look under News and Your Stories for inspiration, planting ideas, guest blogs, recipes and a whole lot more. If you feel inspired to write something for the site, send us a photo of your achievements or disasters, a relevant story or a gardening tip, they will be gratefully received. Please submit them via the Contact Us page. We welcome guest gardening bloggers with interesting images.
