No, it’s not fake news, Christmas is just around the corner, stress levels are rising, the ‘to do’ list is beginning to build and important decisions have to be made, what to buy, how much to spend, who to send to and where can I get my Christmas cards this year?
Choosing cards is not an exact science, there are plenty of seasonal designs available again this year, the Nativity scene, the fluffy mice with red ‘Santa’ hats on, scenes of snow covered cottages and churches, choirs, angels, holly berries, glittery bells and reindeer.
But if you think these are ‘ a bit of old hat’ why not choose something a little different this year, something produced locally, designed by a local, available to buy locally and to support a good local cause?
One of Rye’s favourite artists, Richard Adams, may provide the answer to your dilemma for he has been designing Christmas cards over the years in his own distinctive and humorous style and this years design ‘Christmas Charabanc’ ( see photo above) is soon to be available.
After printing costs, all proceeds raised from sales of the cards will benefit your Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital fund. The cards are sold at events and to Hospital members and will also be available at the Hospital reception desk.
The cards are £3.99 for a pack of 5, printed by Adams in Rye then distributed to locations locally including the Cards for Good Causes Charity Shop on Conduit Hill which is open each day.
If you want something different this year and want to help to make a difference, support your local hospital by buying your cards from them. There will be limited availability so don’t miss out.
