The Cherry Barn is somewhere you may not have heard about but if you are considering tying the knot and looking for a venue which offers that little extra magic, you may want to come along and see what it’s all about. The Cherry Barn is situated in secluded rural surroundings on a 400-acre working sheep and fruit farm in rural Peasmarsh, just three miles from Rye.

Clayton Farm, off Church Lane in Peasmarsh is home to Steven and Melanie Reeve. Their stunning converted 17th century barn is the perfect wedding and events venue, situated on high ground with far-reaching rural views towards Rye and the sea in the High Weald area of outstanding natural beauty. On offer are exclusive 48-hour hire periods and up to 150 guests can be seated comfortably.

The gazebo, a stunning setting for that special celebration.

The Cherry Barn is licensed for weddings but for those wanting a religious ceremony, the Norman church of St Peter and St Paul in Peasmarsh is only a short stroll away. Their oak- framed gazebo allows for outdoor wedding ceremonies and, if you fancy something a little less formal, why not celebrate your union in the woods or under an oak tree, a celebrant led blessing is the perfect solution! The Cherry Barn is also a gay-friendly venue.

The working farm is home to 640 head of Romney sheep with traditional lambing in April and on the farm’s upper slopes are the apple orchards. The fruit produced is largely sold on to supermarkets or used for fruit processing and juice, but some is retained and made into craft Starvecrow cider.
