Globe food to go

We know from memory that Globe Sunday roast is the stuff of legend.  So, having been past and seen the signs about take away we thought we’d phone up and order.

Globe to Go menu

Despite building works underway to refurbish and expand, the Globe has sorted out what looked like a slick take away service.  I was told what delivery slots were available between noon and 3pm.  This was encouraging as it would mean our order was freshly prepped for us and not been kept waiting for ages.  At the appointed time, Lizzie was ready waiting outside with a brown paper carrier bag with my name on it, and inside neat cardboard boxes with what turned out to be an amazing meal.

Sunday lunch in lock-down takes on a new meaning when you haven’t had to cook it yourself.  For £10 we thought it was very good value for money.  A very large thick slice of slow roasted beef brisket, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese (my favorite!), greens, and roasted carrots.  The beef was perfectly cooked, falling apart tender and full of flavor.  All the accompaniments were great.  To put it bluntly the Globe to Go roast is BANGING.

My only regret is that I forgot to order the brownie banoffee desert.
