The pagers went off at 3:39pm on Saturday, July 16 for the crew at RNLI Rye Harbour. A young girl aged 9 had gone missing on a packed Camber Beach.

Luke Bishop passed out as helm on July 8 and has had three shouts so far. Today he was joined by Stuart and Tia on the boat. Shore crew, Emma and Lucy had their first shout. Deputy launch authority was Neil J and tractor driver was Brendan Towner. Further shore crew were Jack I and Neil D.

The child was found safe and well and our boat was recalled and returned to the station. Congratulations team on such a speedy launch which was handled with professionalism. There were many people watching who commented on the efficiency of the launch.
