Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital has become the UK’s first community hospital to achieve carbon neutrality as reported in Rye News in August of this year Rye Hospital decarbonisation. Last Friday December 1 2023, Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital had their achievement recognised and were awarded the Energy Saving Award 2023 for Hospital and Health Service Project of the Year category.
The award was presented to the project team at DMA, the contractors responsible for delivering the project and the chairman of the hospital charity, Barry Nealon. The award ceremony was held at the prestigious Plaza hotel in London. The award and recognition is hugely appreciated and celebrates the efforts of all the people involved in delivering the very first decarbonised hospital in the UK.
The Energy Saving Awards, organised by leading publications Plumbing, Heating & Air Movement News (PHAM News) and Energy in Buildings & Industry (EiBI), part of Datateam Business Media, is a new event celebrating the very best professionals, products and projects across the Plumbing, HVAC and Energy Management sectors. The awards have been created to acknowledge the important work that has been achieved by manufacturers, installers, contractors, suppliers and organisations to reduce carbon emissions and become more energy efficient. They look forward to giving professionals in this topical and increasingly critical area the opportunity to celebrate their collective achievements. Receiving an award or commendation from this event will help to separate the winners from their competitors and open up new business opportunities.
