A glorious Sunday, June 2, saw the third day of the free Jazz and Blues Fest at the Stade on Hastings seafront, organised by Hastings Winkle Club. The fine weather brought out a good audience.
The well-organised event had six bands playing, and many people enjoyed dancing to the varied numbers. Comfortable deck chairs and tables were set out and the bar and burger stall were very busy as the crowd enjoyed the music.
Hastings Winkle Club is a charitable organisation formed in 1900 by Hastings fishermen, a small enthusiastic group of men with the main idea of helping underprivileged families of Hastings Old Town. The bar, run by the Filo Pub in the High Street, Old Town, donates all the drinks money to the Winkle Club for community funds.
