If you’ve been looking for a dining experience with a difference look no further as on Thursday, June 27 from 6:30pm onward The Devil in Rye brings you an Indian thali feast complete with authentic live Indian sitar music and henna tattoo artist.
Jonathan Mayer, one of the most well known Indian sitar players in the UK, will be making a guest appearance at the event. He is not only a fine musician but also a composer, having worked with Sir Paul McCartney and the BBC Concert Orchestra. To add a further authentic twist to the evening, Kajal from KK Artistry will treat you to natural henna tattoos – a great way to take away a souvenir of what should prove to be an unforgettable evening.
Restaurant owner Dev Biswal has put this special evening together and for £35.99 per person (discounted to £29.99 with a Privilege Card) you can enjoy unlimited thali food which is an Indian-style meal of 6 different flavours including sweet, salt, bitter, sour, astringent and spicy, all on one single platter.
Diners can choose from the following unlimited thali feasts: South Indian non-vegetarian thali with saffron rice, chicken chettinad, Kerala goat coconut fry, lentil with spinach, potato varuval, Indian bread, rice fryums, chutney, coconut yoghurt raita, stir-fry vegetables and sweet of the day.
Alternatively there is the South Indian seafood thali menu comprising saffron rice, tilapia and prawn moilee, grilled seabass, lentil with spinach, potato varuval, Indian bread, rice fryums, chutney, coconut yoghurt raita, stir-fry vegetables and sweet of the day.
Finally the trio of menus offers a South Indian vegetarian and vegan thali option with saffron rice, vegan cheese and mushroom chettinad, lentil with spinach, potato varuval, Indian bread, rice fryums, chutney, coconut yoghurt raita, stir-fry vegetables and sweet of the day.
These are three interesting menus to choose from in an intimate and authentic atmosphere which promises to be a very special dining experience complete with live music and entertainment.
