This Wednesday morning took me as usual to the Farmer’s Market in the courtyard behind the Cinque Ports Arms.
There were the usual stallholders present. Darren Lewis, of VJ Game, sells meat and vegetables which always attracts a good custom; he is rightly famous for his venison, wild boar and smoked meats, but a good Sunday joint can also be purchased there.
Next to him is another member of his family selling cakes, pastries and sausage rolls all freshly baked in Nana’s oven. Then there is Valentin Nica from Canterbury with his fresh baked bread, pastries, and croissants.
It is a convivial gathering place for meeting friends, and even indulging in an early thirst-quencher from the bar (open from 10), courtesy of Beverley.

What about Eric, the cheese man ? Probably the best cheeses, in splendid condition , that you’ll find anywhere !
An inexplicable omission!!!
Sheila, I’m sorry you didn’t make it to the Farmers Market last time, otherwise you would have seen that Eric was not there. I hope you will be find him there on your next visit. His cheeses are good.
